Although I've moved a lot, 14 times in my life, I always forget just how much work goes into moving! There's packing. There's cleaning. There's constant trips to the store to buy more packing and cleaning materials. There's living off boxed foods and takeout once the kitchen is packed. There's loading and unloading the truck. Unpacking all the boxes. But the hardest thing of all is to say goodbye to family and friends, and to a significant place of my life. Maybe that's why moving is so hard. Saying goodbye.
So, I wanted to let all my friends from the past 11 years, in Amarillo and Lubbock and Clovis and Canyon, know that I love them all. Each of you, whom I have called friend and who have called me friend, have touched my life and made a lasting impression on me. I am blessed to have had each and every one of you in my life, and I hope that somehow, we still keep in contact. Social media and cell phones are really great for long distances.
Maybe it will all sink in for me when we're 15 hours away, starting on our new adventure in the Rockies. I'm excited to see what Utah has in store for the Washburn family.
I just found your website while searching for the perfect FHE lesson. You sound so amazing! I'm in Utah also, where are you headed to?
ReplyDeleteThanks! We just moved to the Provo area. I can't believe how beautiful it is here! Such a contrast to the yellow plains of west Texas.
DeleteYou summed up moving perfectly. I just moved to Utah from Idaho in June. Still recovering. Ha ha. Good luck and I hope you love your new place.
ReplyDeleteThanks! We've been at unpacking for the past two weeks and I think we are about to take a break from it, lol. We are loving our new place! It's quite a step up from the last one.
